Stressful Day

My son took unwell on Monday with flu like symptoms on Tuesday this turned to a fever and today was sent to hospital with pneumonia. Has been given a dose of antibiotics so hopefully will be on the mend. This has been the first he has been unwell in his 14 years so we have been pretty concerned as he is a very fit lad.

Worrying times of course. My youngest lad is the same age Colin - and I can only imagine your concern as from the sounds of it - he's clearly normally a very fit and healthy young man.

Please keep us in touch: and I hope he's now on the road to recovery.

Cheers guys. He is a very active kid and was away for the weekend with his badminton club so on Sunday night we thought he was just done in after that. The poor guy is worried he's missing school as he has prelim exams in May and apologised to his mum for worrying her. God love him.

My god Colin. Sorry to hear this mate. You and your family must have been all over the place. I've recently had an issue with a family member where things seemed to spiral out of control really quickly. Very frightening indeed.

Swift recovery thankfully, really hope the same applies here.

Hope your son makes a swift recovery mate. It's at times like these you realise what's important in this world

Sorry to hear this. Great lad being concerned about his mum! I'm sure he'll be fine for the exams, & if needs be can take them at a later date. My wife was in hospital for weeks as a teenager but she's going strong at 53 so try not to worry overmuch. (She'd probably kill me for posting her age but I like a little danger)!!

Hope alls ok with your son (I'm sure he will be fine ), my father ended up in icu 10 years ago when that was missed by a doctor! Very lucky you got it treated early as when it's left it can be very dangerous!

Sorry to hear about your boy Colin. Must be stressful.
One thing with kids is that they bounce back quickly.
Wish you and family well mate.

Tell me about it, my father got pneumonia in Tenerife and ended up in an ICU, I had to fly out to be with my mum, this was in November and he passed away in January. This was a couple of years ago and my dads lungs were 80 years old but when I hear that pneumonia word I panic. As said kids bounce back but you can't help but worry.

He will be grand bud  as you say youth on his side! My dad, when admitted to hospital was discovered to have a collapsed lung and blood poisoning as well due to the misdiagnosis, It really was touch and go, was in icu for a week, that was 10 years back now.

Got everything crossed for your lad, you and your family Colin. He sounds like a very good kid; concerned with missing school and upsetting his mum! Keep us updated.

A wee update lads. My boy seems to over the worst, still having trouble breathing and not got his appetite back but looking a bit brighter. Docs on Monday for another check up so fingers crossed. Thanks for the best wishes.
That's good mate. Still on my mind.
