LY 200T

It took a little while longer to move the Mercedes on than I hoped, but it left for its new home 3 weeks ago. I then had to wait a couple of weeks to begin my search for my new car as I was too busy with work to go and look at anything.

The hunt for a liquid yellow 200T then began, and it quickly became clear that it was slim pickings. I finally found one and arranged a viewing, only for the guy to decide that he didn't want to sell it a few days before. I was pretty gutted! I had been looking at another online at a specialist car dealer in the Midlands, but the pictures on the listing weren't great so I wasn't convinced.

It was late on a Friday night, bored of hours of searching for cars and coming up empty, I then re-read Chris' progress thread. Chris' car looks awesome and was the main reason I wanted one in this colour, despite the dealer's images - I thought the actual car will look so much better in the flesh. So I bit the bullet and went to look at it on the Sunday.

When I got there the car was sitting there at the door of the unit and I don't mind admitting that within about two seconds I had decided to buy it. Thankfully after a very thorough inspection, it turns out it was in great condition. As was all of his stock to be fair, never seen such a clean inventory.

Here she is on the Monday, after driving to a meeting with my boss. Not the best pictures - I was in a rush to get back in and drive her.

This is the best pic I have taken so far, but the car was a little dirty after a couple of trips to the office in London.

I'm so pleased with it! Not had a chance to have a proper blast in it yet, only normal driving (had a few little plays), but I love it. It already has a few things done to it, but I have so much more planned! I ordered a few little things the day I got it, so will have some updates soon.

Very very Nice. Looks extremely tidy....

Need some good interior shots too though. I love that place

They are getting there now

Very nice how you finding it overall love mine

I'm wary of the "new car feeling" biasing my opinion, but so far I love it! it feels rapid, the build quality is better than I expected and I love the way it looks. Especially with the weather being nice the last few days - the paint looks amazing. It helps that the paint on this car is spot on bar a couple of little marks.

Feels quicker than my Merc, but that might have something to do with the better exhaust soundtrack. The handling is awesome and I really like the interior. The only thing I was slightly wary of was the auto function of the box, which now I have driven it, overall I think is fine. If I had one gripe I would say it the box is a little more eager to kick down than the Merc was, but that was a 7 speed, and this is a sporty car with a six-speed box. I've adapted my driving style and now it doesn't happen as much. Not an issue, it's just very noticeable with the exhaust is on it ha ha. I think it's great in Sport and Race mode.

Thanks, Chris. Yeh, I didn't notice the wiper delete straight away. But I like it, tidies up the rear.

Lovely! What has it already had done?

I'm bound to miss something, but here goes:
  • Cup chassis
  • Gloss black badges
  • ELIA front splitter/lip
  • Smaller front plate
  • RSTuning Remap (230.4HP)
  • Pure Motorsport EDC Shim (any ideas?)
  • LED bulbs all round, plus I think it has HID headlights (haven't had a chance to check it out properly yet)
  • Just found an invoice for CookSport springs in the folder - need to check if these are installed. Looks standard to me (read: too high)
  • Scorpion Turbo back exhaust (my favourite part of the car!
Normal Renault dealer modifications ha ha:
  • Rear spoiler eject feature fixed
  • SD card slot replaced

Are you joining us on the 2nd or are you too far? Would love to hear a 200t with an aftermarket exhaust!
