Not quite dead in the water yet then.

Any idea when 'post Alpine production' might be ? Just wondering on a potential timescale on a potential build.......
 
Would have thought the Clio would be in far more demand than the alpine. From a business perspective....
 
Slightly off topic but when Yamaha revealed their new R1 they also revealed the R1M (the MotoGP bike being called the M1). The R1M would be close to £19k and would include carbon fairings electronic suspension etc. To buy this bike, and therefore to judge interest you had to answer a series of questions like how many track days you do a year, how many Yamahas you have owned in the past etc. and then register your intention online. If you were lucky you were given the offer to put down a deposit and then production began when the book was full. It was so successful they produced it again the following year.

Renault could have done the same thing. Stuck a price on it see who is genuinely interested take deposits, if it reaches target amount build, if not then scrap the idea.

I don't think it's a car vs car thing though. It's a whole future of a reinvention/investment in a brand, vs a short run of an existing model special edition. Not surprised Alpine is the current area of concentration. I believe at one point the F1 team naming/branding was under consideration to be part of the Alpine rebirth (I.e Alpine F1 Team)

I was at the Monaco Grand Prix when they released this. Would love to have a drive in one.
 
I was reading the Evo article on it this morning, and at the end with all the tech specs, it says 'On Sale: Never'... Such a massive shame.
