Emergency shock absorber help please!

08 plate 197 in local garage cos of a broken spring. I supplied front cup springs from a 200 and they say won't fit . Renault say only one shock fitted to 197 and four different springs but all have same mounting size. So Renault say will fit, garage say noooooo. Any ideas? Apart from some nob having fitted wrong shocks !,

There are 2 different top mounts. Larger top mounts, which are pre 2010. And smaller top mounts which are post 2010.
The 2 different mounts take different springs. Some of the earlier 200s actually use the 197 springs, so depending on the year of the 200 that you go the new springs from will determine whether they fit or not.

Tried to order top mounts from Renault but won't order as got no reg for springs.lol

The 4 springs they are referring too (as above)

197/early 200 standard springs
197/early 200 cup springs
200 standard springs
200 cup springs

Don't suppose anyone nos part numbers for the late top mounts?

Have you sorted yet ? Got front 197 cup spring 47K.
