    The cost to buy will be about 10% of the write off value. Buying back. Whether you repair it yourself or not, the car will be worth loads in parts. Especially if you’ve still got the Recaro seats. (£650-1000 depending on condition).

    Sorry if this had been covered before but I was wondering how reliable these conversions are? It appears an R26 engine and box and LSD fits but is it any less reliable than a Megane R26? Also, I’d the LSD pretty useable or is a 225 box just as good? Currently have a Meg 250 running 300 BHP.

    Ill probably advertise the Megane age if it sells then it’s mind made up. Prices seem all over the place but if you whittle it down to the ones with all the desirable extras, and more then the prices seem quite high. If that’s the case then I’ll let it go.

    Never too far away to get to RS tuning. I travelled from Littlehampton to Leeds and back in the day to get my Megane 250 mapped recently. Back home to put my daughter to bed at 8pm too. Well worth the trip. (Get back quicker after a map too!
