Trackspec Clio 197

Perfect thank you. I didn't think there was enough room for the depth of the plug but will try and do what you have done

There’s plenty of depth mate. Just make sure you position it where there is a hole behind otherwise you’ll have to cut the inner skin, although this won’t be an issue just more work really.

Ive been using the Clio for a couple of days back and fourth to work and loving every minute of it.

Wanted to share the success of the radiator cooling ductinh. It has made a considerably and consistent reduction in temperatures. Previously I was averaging water temp on a normal drive around 98-100deg C and since fitting the duct it’s now ranging between 80-84deg C with an average of 29-32deg C on the inlet temperate too.

To support this I have removed the sealing strip on the bulkhead to allow the engine bay heat to escape this has certainly helped.

Note I am still running a Clio Radiator.

Good info for future reference
How's the engine anyway Matt, any upgrades planned?

Not bad thanks Sean. I may get the map adjusted at some point for the new exhaust etc but no upgrades planned for this motor. Although I am planning on a motor upgrade at some point by going fully forged and Clio head, stronger valve train, different cams and uprated manifold and turbo. I have also been pricing a sequential gearbox...

Nice one, sounds good. If you want to sell the engine as is then let me know and I'll have it back off you.

Clio 197 box sequential?

A friend of mine deals with a french manufacturer of after market sequential gearboxes with fully adjustable ratios and all other supporting parts.

Glad all your little upgrades made lots of difference..keep up the hard work...:thumb:

Thanks Pav. Surprising how something that cost around £5 can make so much difference but I guess that’s why touring cars and WRC cars etc run similar ducting set ups.

They look good mate, definitely finishes off the floor.

Did you get the roof vent aswell?

I haven’t ordered yet mate. I can’t decide whether to get the carbon fibre one and leave it unpainted or go for the GP one and paint it racing blue.
Got to say that looks great.

Christ I bet it’s noisy inside that cabin with no deadening!?

It’s not too bad Ben. I’m use to minis with straight cut gearboxes and my last 106 was so much noisier lol.

Thankfully it’s not a daily!

I'd go Blue personally, bit more subtle.

I’ve driven quite a bit of the car recently and really enjoying every minute of it. It’s been a good opportunity to make sure that everything is working as it should ahead of any track days.

My new car cover has arrived. Really impressed with the quality and feel.
