Do I have an LSD?

When the front wheels are off the ground and spin the n/s clockwise and o/s spins anticlockwise does this 100% confirm I have an LSD?

Cheers
Matt

Hi Matt, that 100% confirms that you don't have an LSD. If you had, both wheels would be turning towards the same direction.

Okay, I meant the direction of the wheel when looking at them from the side.

Both wheels turn in the same direction when spinning one wheel.

What’s the difference with an LSD and gripper?

A Gripper is just another type of LSD, it uses plates (a bit like clutches) to provide the locking action. Whereas other types we can have for the Clio (Quaife / Wavetrac) basically use gears.

Even then it proves nothing, you might have a tight diff and it’s just turning the second motion shaft in the gearbox and the entire diff

When I bought the car I was told it did, but no proof!

If I make the wheels spin on pull away both wheel will slip not all the power going to one of the wheels that has the least grip.
