Beanys RB 200 cup

Tyres have been fitted today... due to the severity of the fronts I didn’t have time to take it to a proper garage so used tyres on the drive. Seen afew negative reviews after purchasing which had me guessing what end of the stick I’d be getting. Guy turned up well in the allocated time slot and took him about 45mins to change all 4 however upon closer inspection he’s been fairly brutal with the alloys and afew scuffs and abit of a nasty gouge where he’s tried to take the centre cap off one..

I guess you get what you pay for but there’s always that hope someone would be decent! Good job my uncles in the alloy refurbishment business

Shame to hear that Chris, it’s a shame when there’s a lack of care when your beloved car is having any work done! I’m guessing you won’t be following the post up with a recommendation?

Not a glowing one, £440 was a good price delivered and fitted to say I ordered them late Saturday... nearest quote was £500 a week later & time off work.

I'm a stickler for stuff like this - gutted to read it Chris. I've used both garages that are on the same estate as my yard and vowed never to use them again. Similar reasons, plus shafting me for huge amounts of money on separate occasions. :censored:

I've got some deciding to do over the next few weeks regarding wheel refurbishment and colours...plus deciding what set to refurb first! Hope you get yours sorted soon mate.

It’s been like having slicks on recently :/ does anyone know torque setting for wheel bolts?

I know sadly Stone chips haven’t helped with but wondering what colour

Think 120nm for wheel bolts.
Standard colours for me. I still like anthracite!

Cheers... guy mentioned he’d done them back up to 140nm and to check again in a couple of miles incase any have loosened.

I like what Mes did with th bronze but unsure if it’ll suite cup alloys? I’d like white but it’ll be a pain to clean especially with the mileage I do... or be mental and go orange

Oh please go mental!! Wanted to see Shuv’s in Orange but it never happened...

Yeah @sevenfourate good point, @Johnny 99 kept his side of the deal and got red ones!

What a shame to hear the tyre fitting wasn't all you hoped for and rightly expected; and seemingly performed by a fitter with the touch of a Russian shot-putter. Great news you have fam in the game though (Refurbs) and can now focus on making a positive out of a negative Chris. And i'd suggest Orange. Not that i want you to be a guinea pig or anything; but a few high res pics afterwards to my inbox would be much appreciated

And you two quoted above need to pipe down a bit. It's not dead in the water yet from me and i do have some OZ's in the box still to fit. Just need to decide:

1/. Which if any set i want Orange.

2./ If i want to risk going Bankrupt; because it might just kill me doing it right now.

what a bastard! :censored: i was very concerned when i was looking for somewhere to fit the tyres on to my brand new evo corse but i decided to go back to my ususal place 3miles away and they did a cracking job. I wont bother looking else where now. They also charged me 25 quid to fit four tyres and balance.

Oooooh I forgot about the OZs! However I think it would break my heart to see them painted orange. Orange Speedlines.

Know the feeling about your second point very well indeed! I may have forgot about my annual trip to Cheltenham Races for the Gold Cup when booking Spa and spent a large amount of money that probably should have stayed as contingency/fuel money....

WHAT. I'm driving to you when I need tyres fitting from now on.

They would’ve charged £25 fitting had I not spent a small fortune ... if I had paid it and got that I would’ve kicked off

im even more paranoid when it comes to changing tyres..i have a spare set of wheels so i put them on myself in before hand and drive to a tyre place..have my new tyres fitted there and put them in the boot..then i repeat the whole process :excited:

anyway, what a dick..can't they take more care while working around expensive bits??my calipers suffered last time too..they just don't give a hoop,do they?chipped paint and all sorts..
hope you get a decent quote buddy :thumb:

I was told opinion varies on wheel bolt torque settings & advised 130-140 Ft lb, a bit less for locking bolts. For the past couple of years I've been using 130 Ft lb & 110 Ft lb on lockers.
