Clio RS200T - Track/Road

Hi everyone

Not made a progress thread in a while, but good to be back in a fun car again!

So we have my 2013 Silver Clio RS200T EDC Lux - Cup Chassis

She’s done 21,000miles with full Renault history, has a Cup Chassis as an option, and currently, couldn’t be more pleased with her!

Not looking to strip her down and make a full machine out of her, as she’s going to be my daily too. But a few additions will be coming shortly, with maybe the odd bigger mod to keep me happy.

Possibly the odd mod that’s easily interchangeable. As she will be tracked, as well as a daily, quote regularly

Plans so far -

Part De-Badge Boot - In Process

Black Diamonds - Ordered and on their way

Team Heko Wind Deflectors - Enquiring

Black Front Blade - Quoted

Black Roof - Quoted

Black Rear Diffuser - Quoted

2nd Cat & Centre Silencer Delete - Enquiring

Cooksport Lowering Springs - Unsure?
(Opinions on these over Cup Springs? Coilovers currently aren’t an option, but these will improve the stance, but how big is the ride sacrifice over the Cup Springs?)

4 Point Rear Strut Brace - Enquiring

Future Plans -

Two Fixed Bucket Seats on Rails

4 Point Harnesses - Installed for Track Days - Seatbelts kept for daily use

Up-Rated Discs & Pads

Alloy FMIC

CUSTOM REMAP!!!

Like I say, she’s for track and road use. But main use is the dog car & the fun car.

Hope you all like it!

Great mileage, car must basically feel like new! Sounds like you’ve got plenty planned, will be interesting to see how it all comes together!

as above..im sure you know where you are going with your little project..lots of knowledgeable people on here so dont hesitate to ask..
enjoy your little rocket pocket..

have you had the gearbox software updated by Renault??

Very nice, don't think I even realised renault made them in silver.
Speak to RS Tuning in Leeds for the remap, very highly recommened
I hadn’t seen it in silver before, so was very pleasantly surprised to find it! 7hour round trip before a night shift, to pick it up though haha
Yeah I’ve heard they’re the ones to use. Leeds is only a couple of hours, so it’ll be worth a trip.

Yeah it hasn’t done many at all, it’s very clean!

Already picked the brains of some on here. Like I said on that thread, it’s good to be back on a forum! I’ve been an active member of a few in the past, so looking forward to getting to know everyone etc.

I’m not sure, it bought it from a Renault dealer, so I’d have assumed it would have been done. But then again... that would make too much sense for a dealer.
Might be worth nipping to my local to check.
Thanks again

Awesome! Such a rare colour for an RS, think I've only perhaps seen one before, and I could well be lying :tongueout:

Just to add my two-pennies worth...

I personally think Heko deflectors look odd on a 5 door, some people just keep the fronts, the rears have been known to fly off into the wild. I do miss them though!
In terms of wrapping, check out the Monaco GP Edition as that will give you a good idea on how it will turn out (just squint until you see the white change to silver!)
Second cat delete can be a pig of a job, especially on an older car - something to do with the nuts/bolts that are fused to the downpipe or wherever it is! It's also loud! Centre silencer delete is one of the greatest mods you could have, and will cost you £70-80 without giving you any drone.
Cooksport springs are a great option for the Cup chassis, and reasonably priced too - this guy on Facebook has them and really rates them.

He also highly rates the standard pads as they haven't let him down on a UK track day yet, though struggled slightly at the Ring. I'm about to modify my setup to RBF600 fluid, braided hoses and DS2500 pads.
The intercooler thing is something I've been researching lately and you have a few options. Airtec do a lovely range of goodies for the Mk4 RS and will cost you around £850 if you ask for a deal (FMIC kit, turbo cooler, hot and cold boost pipes). Bear in mind that their IC blocks the radiator, and will need the turbo cooler added. So that's £495 for the IC, plus £175 for the cooler. as a minimum. They have also revised the kit to reduce the outer diameter from 60 to 50mm as people were complaining there was a significant drop in boost pressure. The Pro Alloy kit sold exclusively through RS Tuning is £738 but that comes with the alloy throttle body pipe which is prone to splitting, but has adequate cooling to the radiator, so it's swings and roundabouts.
Another popular mod is the ITG intake, the only intake to have proven gains after a map. Cheapest I found was from Pure Motorsport. Sounds great too!
As mentioned, RS Tuning are the people to go to for the remap, the 200T can get massive gains and far better than if I mapped my Trophy, though we'd likely both come out at 245 in the end. There's a group buy on the TurboRenault forum for RST at the moment for £100 off (post-discount map will be £354 inc VAT) though you must get the map done by the end of April, so you'd need to get all your breathing mods done by then!

Something tells me I spend far too much time researching :tearsofjoy:

Looking forward to seeing more updates

Cheers mate! Yeah I can’t recall seeing many (if any!)

I’ll have to have a look and see. I think it adds another dimension higher up the car, a different line if you want. If they don’t look any good, theyre only like £25

Ahhhh, see now that’s made me second think the roof. I like the front end, but I’m just not sure. Maybe it’s worth getting the blade done first and go from there.

Again with this, maybe worth getting the silencer removed and see where we are with volume. I can’t wait to get it booked in, leaving for long life in about an hour, see what they can quote me.

This is good to hear! I was worried about meddling with what RenaultSport have obviously tried and tested.
But I just think abit less arch gap will look 10c better, and a lower centre of gravity can surely only be good (if the dampers are up to it)

Worth a go then! Always worth listening to the experience with cars like this.
Worst case scenario, and I don’t like it, can always upgrade to ferodo’s for the next one!
Braided hoses are on the list, but just didn’t bother with the little things for the future list.

Ahhhh I wasn’t aware of the radiator being blocked by an updated FMIC. Looks like the airtec package is the way to go.
Shouldn’t be too taxing to install either really.

Air intake should have been on the list! ITG is the one I’ve seen, so good to hear some info on it!

Ahhh probably come abit to soon for me!
Wedding and honeymoon is taking its toll at the moment, so not too much free cash for all the bits i want pre-map!

Thanks again Micah for all your knowledge!
With cars like this it’s invaluable to hear first hand (or second hand) experiences with what works and what doesn’t!
I can see myself calling on you in the future many times haha!

Woke up quite early off nights today, so had abit of free time to take some badges off.
Even had a FaceTime with the OH to see what she thought before removing the RS Badge. But they all went, front and rear.

I think it looks so much cleaner, and so please with the front end!! The RS is untextured underneath, and I think it looks better than the badge. Understated and subtle.

Just waiting on the black covers and will throw them on.

Nothing like getting up early and doing a bit of customisation. No big deal on the mods vs wedding funds - she sounds like a keeper if she has a constructive and positive say in the aesthetics of cars!
Longlife could do your centre delete in 30 minutes... just saying
Black badges will really finish it off now, very nicely indeed.
Always happy to answer any questions you may have, find it quite exciting to be honest!

Yeah she’s pretty good to be fair haha. Let me pick the wedding cars too... then swiftly reminded me that was the end of my involvement! Not that I argued haha.

Yeah it makes the rear look 100x better imo.

I think she might just be... a few in the coming months at Anglesey. So might book on for a quick test of how she does.

Just booked her in for a Centre Silencer Delete tomorrow, at long life. £80 and pick up the same day. Can’t moan at that.

I can't wait to hear your feedback on the silencer delete tomorrow. I couldn't stop smiling when I drove it away, just totally transforms the sound.

I’m sure you’ll be right!!
Problem is, my mates dropping me off and picking me up, in his defatted RS3... going to have to ask him to keep it in comfort and under 2000rpm, so I’m not disappointed haha

That's a decent quote..you supplying the pipe?
No no, that all in. They provide the pipe and the work.
Sounds about right from what I’ve been reading, but still pleased with it mate

Got it back already, only took them an hour!

What a difference! Sounds brilliant, couldn’t be more pleased with it.
I’ll try and get a video up of it later on maybe.

Even worse fears were realised, than getting picked up in the RS3.
Was completely overshadowed by the sound of my mates V10+ .... he couldn’t let me have my day could he haha

Glad your sorted - video now pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease  The completely soul-less standard sound on Mk3's and 4's is a real sensation / emotion / enjoyment killer imo......

Audi (Lambo) V10 is an epic sound isn't it. Guy local to us has one with a set of exhausts on and he often comes past the rear of my work at full-chat. Best sounding car ever (?).....

Ive got a video, just waiting for YouTube to accept it, and appear on the app haha.
I know what you mean, it does have a nice grunt on startup, but it was just lacking that certain something!
Really pleased with it though.

It is an absolutely beautiful sounding engine, you’re right!
Always forget how quick it is too, nearly broke my neck on the slip road haha.
