Ollie's GW 200 Project

You keeping the Corbeaus? I can't decide between a set of fixed or those...

So, @atkin92 finally persuaded me to get a set of rear catches on the boot, I was on the fence for a long time but finally bit the bullet and got the hammer and chisel out... [emoji6]

During the Christmas break, @Ollie930 also got the new suspension set-up on for me which I am over the moon with! Such a difference to the Spax, being the same price - B14’s piss all over be Spax. Just need to toy with the front camber and see what I can deal with on track.

Now I have the harness’, I’m making a move from the Corbeau recliners onto a fixed seat for obvious reasons. Heading to AutoSport this Sunday at the NEC to see what’s about. At the moment I’m heading towards the Club Sports but have missed out on the February batch. Speaking to the rep he informed me that the next batch is a “new design” with subtle changes such as the harness grommets and suede patch. Will be interesting to see the difference, with fingers crossed I should get them ordered this weekend.

Other than that, I have CM Comp brake fog ducts on order. Whether I use them for the brakes or airbox, I’m not sure. I had brake fade at the ring but I’m sure that was down to my shitty pads, so that’s another thing to add to the list.

If you are going down the track route now, I would really reconsider the Clubsports. Ive had a set for about a year now and keep looking to change then. They have a lot of flex in them I wouldn't like to think how they would hold up with a knock on track.
Also if you use the runner they have a fair bit of play that creak like mad.

Depends mate, haven’t really considered it yet. Would you be interested?

Thanks for the advice mate. I really like the design of the seat, my only other option would be the Pole Positions but way out my price range I think. It’s for light track use, but hearing that makes me wonder. How bad do they flex? I’ll just run them flat to the subframe without a runner.

so you are happy with the B14's??you'd say they are better than spax?

B14’s are outstanding mate. Not as crashing as the Spax, can’t wait to try them track!

Depending on price, possibly! Matt mentioned to me about Corbeau Pro Series X seats, what about them?

They’d be ready to bolt straight as have bought new frames already for new seats save pissing around. Honestly mate I’m fussy when it comes to seats, I don’t like the shape of them or the harness grommets!

I’ll get you a better review once I’ve tracked them, the Spax ruined my arch liners, so that can tell the tail haha.

Fair enough! PM me when you've got a set sorted to go in, I may have to pop down...

Nice one. I'm sure I sat in one at Trax, hold you in pretty tight but still quite comfy? Want something that will run harnesses when I need to (Spa mainly..) but doesn't compromise comfort on long drives..

As long as I've got a set of some kind of seats that will run harnesses in the car before the Easter Weekend I'll be happy..:tearsofjoy:

I think you bought the subframes off me?

Nice car! As said I ran clubsports in my mini I sold them after the first track day they flex so much no support and the runners and side mounts are junk!

I went pro series kevlar after going to tweets and sitting in loads found they fitted me best. 30a17f66e3a11c83acfda173a120e862.jpgf3bc8c9fa9e961c45918b6e335675bf6.jpg

Weird, I did reply in my previous post but never appeared.

Correct, I did buy the frames off you, shall probably use them to sell with the current Corbeau’s and use the current Sparco ones to fit the new seats!

See this has put me in 2 minds now, I’ll have to see how sturdy the next batch are as there are structure changes, whether that’s to improve the flex or not who knows. I guess you get what you pay for really @ £380. Although they are rising to £440!

The Clio Cup GFX are nice, I’m sure you can get them off of Streetracegraphics.org or some site similar, I can’t remember it off hand but have a google!

They well never be a sturdy seat as they are not made to any kind of regulation such as fia etc

Personally I wouldn’t want to run anything that isn’t made to a decent safety standard.

How can coilovers ruin arch liners? It would be clear to me that it would be tyres rubbing from having the car so low?

I ran same height as Nick at Combe. His liners are fine. Evidentially the Spax on “full stiffness” if that even exists, are shit compared.
