Big Bens non Clio

Was that picture the 'height' oF the foaming Ben.....or just a mid-way through shot ?

If you can achieve a seriously snot-like consistency that will dwell on the car for a good 5 mins; it will drag off all sorts of road-crud. Which you'll see by the cleanliness of your car....and the colour of the foam as it comes off. [Well. Not 'snot-like' in the case of BiltHammer Auto-Foam.....butthat stuff really works none-the-less].

I would think if you didn't see this; its a combo of an already cleanish car, not enough snow-foam or an ineffective lance presuming the snow-foam itself is good - which i'm sure it is.

Have you used anything else / tried another process previously as a pre-wash to remove grime ? Traffic film remover, Citrus spray etc......

***Maybe you can experiment later on the other two cars in your driveway

So how do you rate the jets anyway !!!!!
I’d tinkered with the settings of lance until I was getting it thick enough (to my eye). Van was the guinea pig. Defo removed plenty off my van but next to nothing off Clio as it’s never that dirty.
Will revert to valet pro citrus pre-wash and a pump sprayer me thinks!

Fan jets were good. Much better

Snow-foaming can be good. NOT the be-all or end all though for sure. And isn't it all just such a massive faff unless your seriously organised / lucky / rich enough to have leads and wires etc all plumbed-in and at hand and tons and tons of space. And enjoy the clearing up after

90% of the time i cant be arsed with it all either. It's 'easier' to do it by hand or with an attachment on the end of the hose using APC / TFR / Citrus etc; which is what i normally do.

Vid's of the before and after regarding the new jets would have been awesome. I'm struggling to understand the improvement at the moment. Perhaps because i've not seen any in action i don't think (?). Glad you love though !

The aggro of setting up is another thing altogether!!

My old jets came out in two old man piss streams either side. Not good.

New ones deposit a fine mist spray which spreads the water better and looks a whole lot more modern!

For £6 try it and if you don’t like it clip the other ones back in. Process is completely reversible:thumb:

Bit of shopping this evening. Preparations for Spa start now.

New DS1.11 front pads
Mr Pinks brake pins
ELF engine oil and Renault filter

Few more minor items needed before I get everything fitted.

What front pads you running now Ben ?

Anything uprated on the rear at the moment ? With such good fronts now....something like Mintex 1144 rears might be an idea. Would be much improved over standard; but still well below the performance of the fronts. Which is good for obvious reasons.

I've seen many who don't uprate rears at all (And i'm not sure what the brake bias is on these cars). But surely if 'your' front stoppers are way better than standard, and your on a pretty stiff chassis that isn't throwing the weight forward as much when braking - the rears can be upgraded a bit without fear of constantly locking up / losing the arse end ?

Running DS2500 all round Shuv. Looked at rears over the weekend and they’re hardly worn even after 5-6k miles and a few trackdays! Will stick with them for the time being as never had any issues.
Interested to see how good these ds1.11 fronts are because my car stops great on the inferior DS2500:grinning:

I'm inferior upfront too. And your 2500's rears should be better than my 1144's anyway.

My point about brakes was: i'm sure many don't bother (Money, effort.....better things to spend £££ on ?); but if your car isn't showing traits of trying to swap ends every time you brake - why not ?

I've always upgraded the rears on cars and bikes for reference. Never more than the fronts mind !

Seeing as you'll have tried 2500's and are now going up another notch in theory i'll be interested to hear your thoughts...............

Haven’t heard of many people running ds1.11 rears to match the fronts so can’t see any issues brake balance wise.

I’ll keep you posted nonetheless.
My mind doesn’t think quite like yours when it comes to analysing a purchase. I just press pay and hope for the best. To hell with the consequences!!

HA HA.

You'll be perfect IMO. Your front (Weight shifted over that axle when braking / better pads / braided lines [?] / bigger discs / stronger calipers) will be the better of the two....and the rears are still very capable.

'Overthink and underthink' (?) Maybe i could learn from you......
