MarcB's LY Clio 197 F1 R27

You will get the gear change beep now, won't you?

Yeah, Its amazing ;-)

I sat for about 10mins for the car to warm up and then went for a small gentle drive for 20mins and kicked its hole in on the way home just to hear the beep. Its actually very very cool IMO

Best part is that you can still hear it even if you have a loud exhaust

Half tempted to have a look for one. A few times when involved in some 'intense' driving I've found myself bouncing it off the limiter because I didn't look for the light. A beep might be better..!

Is it just a case of getting someone with CLIP to change the mileage on the clocks?

I THINK you can only go forward (ie: UP) on the mileage using Clip or some other method i read about. Not backwards.

Other than that - it means sending off to a specialist mileage correction place.

Makes sense! Will have to look a bit further into it...

I would never adjust the milage on a car as I have all paperwork and MOTs and a lot (Truly A lot) of history with this car to keep everything in order and correct.

Im sure the Renault Can Clip can only put milage on a virgin "New" speedo and once its input that is it in there.

The car was 1000 miles over my current milage which im not going to grumble about as the car is not used as an everyday car and with having a work van and a choice of others cars you are lucky if my cars do 5000/7000 miles a year anyway.

Apart from the Trophy which is locked away 9 months of the year.

Slightly slow progress as not really been doing anything with the car as of late.

I did however change something on my Trophy and I thought I would update and do the same on my 197.

So drilled out my old pedals, rubbed down the pedals , painted them with hammerite and then refitted the new pedals with new rivets and some tiger seal.

top job :thumb:

The longest part of the job is waiting for the hammerite to dry and make sure its perfect.
Im going to be doing the accelerator pedal in the future so they all match with the same rivets.

These are genuine OE renault parts

So another small update.

Looking to get some more parts for the car for the "Big" rebuild with suspension so I thought I would price up some Renault OE anti roll bar bushes for me to be knocked off my feet.
7701056678 - £28.39+vat RRP each (They are sold single & not as a pair)

So for genuine renault OE bushes are you are over £60 if you are paying RRP prices which is crazy, I spoke to my renault specialist and they said that they would advise the OE ones due to them fitting correctly unless I went powerflex which I dont want to go as I dont want to add anymore harshness or vibrations to the car.

They did say if I could get Febi bushes they are normally 95% spot on and a good fit so thats what I went and done and for £3.41 I want not going to moan if they did not fit and just bin them.

when are you fitting the??

Wont be for a few months yet mate as i'm still collecting parts.
Mk3 RS Parts are crazy prices compared to the 172/182 so having to buy parts each month.
Still got more things to get along with over £135 worth of genuine Renault bolts for all the subframe & Suspension.

Just got my hubs and hub carriers all stripped and vapour blasted with ceramic dust so will post some pictures of them up this week.

Another small update with involved changing some interior plastics.

I managed to do a deal with someone for a pile load of new and unused (Still Wrapped) genuine OE new plastics so thought I would start on the tailgate and replace all that with the new stuff along with new poppers and screws so it all looks new and unmarked.
Got a lot more to do also.
