Nimbus 2008 197

BLoody hell mate - what a way to start a progress thread!

Got a feeling this is going to be a BUSY thread!!!

Just had a quick blast in the car this morning. Noticed when I closed the door to lock it there was a really prominent rattle coming from the rear wheel arch:

Any idea what this could be?

A couple of minor updates.

Currently looking at getting a spare key, made a specific thread asking for advice (http://www.clio197.net/threads/acquiring-a-new-key-card.57911/) but not got any as of yet.

After noticing one of the number plate lights was damaged while fixing my number plate I ordered a new unit. Arrived today and fitted. Pardon the really dirty car, muddy farm roads do that to a car...

Old unit lost it's clear cover:

Haven't really reach out to anyone yet but there are a couple of websites im looking at which claim they can do it. Prices range around the £90 mark.

Just gave the car a wash after seeing the rear window in the sticker picture. I always like a clean car but it shows up my fairly abused paintwork...

Lots of little chips and scratches about which I really need to get sorted. Will have access to a bigger garage and more tools in a few weeks so will probably deal with them then, plus paint brake calipers.

Wait. The Clio197 stickers are interior?! I never checked mine...will have to go and install one shortly I think if that's the case....

P.S. your paintwork issues are nothing on mine..probably looking at a full respray for a decent finish..:money:

I think you can get the stickers in both interior and exterior.

Im not so sure, I have fairly major chips on pretty much every pannel.

My nearest specialist is around the £110/120 range if I recall correctly so that price seems fair.

As above can get them in and out

It's a bit misty this morning and both wing mirrors were misted up.

Turned on the rear window heater to enable to wing mirror heaters and only the passenger side mirror cleared. Wondering if the heater in the drivers side has died, anyone know where to get a replacement? Is it just replacing the glass or the whole wing mirror assembly?

I've owned 2 Clios and both have done this from time to time. Turning the heaters off and on again has fixed it every time. Did you try that?

So it's been a few days since I updated this thread. Had a lot going on recently so struggled with time.

First off, I was away last weekend on a trip down south (Not car related) but got a few snaps near the harbor:

All taken with my phone so not the best quality but you get the idea.

Unfortunately, it's been downhill from there...

Some prick opened his door onto my car in the hotel carpark while having a smoke in his car. Saw it happen out my window but by the time I got downstairs he had locked the car and left.

Had bits of silver paint on his door edge, not sure whether it was from me but by the state of his car looks like he bashes it a lot.

Did get his reg and left a note on the windshield with my number but haven't heard anything yet. Not sure it's really worth the hassle of chasing it up...

Just today, took the car out for a drive, got back home and locked it. 30 seconds later alarm starts going off. Sure enough, my alarm issue has resurfaced. Originally thought this was down to the fuel cap solenoid but that still seems to be fully functional. Suppose the next step is a trip to a garage for some diagnostics...

Annoyingly, I'm heading back to uni in a few days and was hoping to bring my car with me. Looks like it might have to come up later....

what a prick really..hate people who dont take care for somebody elses property..think a bit of a touch up paint should do the trick to cover it..
hope you get your alarm issue sorted too..a bit annoying to worry about it all the time plus your battery may die suddenly..

So tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour which hasn't done anything.

The bracket for the bonnet alarm plunger is seriously rusted, would that have something to do with it if it's used as an earth?

Trying to get it booked in with four ashes, anyone know if they have ties to this site? If I mention being a member do they offer discounts or anything?
