Matt's Glacier White Megane 265 - 4th time lucky!

You'll love the induction noise, it's so addictive! I'm yet to get pics of my 'super budget' setup but once I've got time I'll pop some up. Mine is so loud it sounds like the cone is in the glovebox!

Was this the one on eBay Matt? Bargain!

It was yes mate, it was on my list of things to get so I couldn't say no really. It is practically brand new.

Have you managed to get out in the car today and experience the new noise Matt?! Hope you're happy with it

yeah waiting for updates patiently :excited:

Apologies for the lack of updates guys, big night last night so been in bed most of the day!

I had some spare time yesterday afternoon and the sun had come out so I couldn't resist and went out to start fitting the induction kit.

Typically as soon as I'd started, got the battery out etc it started thundering and the heavens opened. So I had to close the bonnet and run inside (I really need to tidy the garage out so I can work in there!)

Luckily the rain stopped so I went back out, I was at the point of fitting the heat shield and realised that I'd stupidly left the induction kit in the boot - obviously at this point the battery is disconnected so the car wouldn't unlock. So I reconnected the battery and finally got everything fitted! To say I never do any work on my car I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to fit, although as I'm writing this and attaching a 'fitted' photo I think I've put the hose on the wrong way as the ktec logo isn't on the front haha

The noise is absolutely INSANE, no different during normal driving but when your on it, it's madness. Really love it and so glad I bought it! It's so addictive, I spent over an hour just driving about in a 'overly excited, but legal manner' :grinning: Might be placebo but the car seems to pick up and drive quite a lot better.

Car is in the body shop for the bootlid warranty work tomorrow (will do a full write up of my experience when I get the car back) so I'll have a courtesy car for a few days - let's hope it's not the same Toyota Aygo I had last time, I didn't think it was possible to have so much hatred towards a car haha.

Happy with the car and progression at the minute, ticking things off my to do list quicker than usual!

Thanks for reading, if you've made it this far!

Congrats on the elongated K-Tec fitting ! And of course glad to hear you're pleased with your purchase. Induction kits certainly let you know their there don't they

Stainless Alarm Bracket is clearly the shiniest thing in that engine bay :tonguewink: As mentioned in another thread though: A great opportunity to update pics later.......

Bootlid warranty is good news and you've done well there. Plenty get accepted - but as many turned down from what i've read.

I'm with you on the Aygo. The ONLY decent thing i've seen about them is a couple of the great colours they offer......

Good luck !

glad you are happy with your IK..heard it in the flesh a few times and have to admit,it sounds brill..

enjoy :thumb:

They definitely do! I don't think I would have kept it if the noise was there all the time as it's my daily but as it's only when your 'on it' I think it's a great addition to the car.

Yeah I'm well chuffed, I was very surprised when I got the call from the body shop to say they had being given the go ahead from Renault Uk. Will do a full write up when I have the car back.

I had a bright orange one last time, looked pretty trendy but just wasn't for me. It drove terribly and was just so slow it was unbelievable! This time I've got........ a Kia Picanto, which is equally as dull haha. Definitely won't be swapping the R27 for it anytime soon, even if computer is reading 60mpg!

glad you are happy with your IK..heard it in the flesh a few times and have to admit,it sounds brill..

enjoy :thumb:

Thanks Pav! It really does sound great, I think the only negative I can say about it is that I can barely hear the Akra now!

Akra and KTec induction... I KNOW how fun that is!

Perfect combo I think. I feel they work together rather than against each other.

Glad it's gone well mate. And yeah, definitely feels more lively with it. Great mod, great price.

Definitely fun Mes, I should have listened to you from the start and bought one a long time ago!

Thanks mate. Can't wait to get the car back and hopefully have a few good drives out before winter sets in.

Excellent, really glad your liking the kit Matt. And kudos to you for doing the fitting yourself - probably adds a little extra layer of satisfaction knowing it's all your own work

Hope the warranty work goes well, looking forward to the report.

It probably took me a lot longer than it would for anyone else but I just had the urge to get it on and fitted! Pretty straight forward actually and was happy with myself that I'd given it a go instead of paying someone for a change..

All gone fairly smooth so far, fingers crossed I will be reporting back later this week with everything sorted and can give everyone my personal experience of dealing with Renault UK.

Being a fellow tight Northerner, I can definitely see the benefit in fitting it yourself  Money saved to be spent on other goodies now!

As soon as I drove back from having ours fitted all I could think was "why did I not do this sooner?"

But it's done now mate, time to enjoy it eh?

Definitely Jimmy, although I think my bank balance isn't looking too great at the moment:grinning: Always got me eye out for a good bargain though!

R27 needs some attention but I'm hoping the remap will get us on the right path. Other than that, LOVE it.

The BMW needs a windscreen due to a crack but trying to work out a way of not paying nearly £700 for one from BMW. Other than that, LOVE it.

Lotus... just LOVE it!

I've followed your thread on the R27, I'm sure once you've had it checked over and got the remap done everything will be fine. Fingers crossed for you!

Isn't the windscreen covered through your insurance with a hopefully small amount of excess ? I know you'll have already explored this option... but worth a thought.

I'm not surprised with the lotus, it's a fantastic car and I'm sure you'll have many happy miles of motoring with it!

Mes is like the bloody voice of reason for all things common-sense/man maths :tearsofjoy:

Haha definitely! If Mes says it's worth spending your money on then you shouldn't hesitate, you should just buy it :grinning:

Insurance... NO CHANCE i'm giving those con artists any chance to get more money off me mate. Yes it's covered under my policy, but having looked at it, so many people saying about getting slapped with a big hike in premiums because they "made a claim" when it wasn't even supposed to show up. They get far too much money as it is from me!

Thanks for the kind words on the Lotus mate. Appreciated.

And don't listen to me, ever. Micah is totally wrong!!!
