Cheers bud.

I took the seats to work in the 'homework' department to fettle, clean and paint.

***10 miles away and out of temptation's way. I know what i'm like - otherwise i would be doing something rash and silly right now; and there'd likely be carpet sticking to wet paint !

Bloody awesome mate. Love them even more now, seeing the other shots. The close up gives a bit more of an impression as to how amazing they'll look in the flesh. Stitching looks absolutely bang on too.

Really great choice on the colour. It's going to look so at home and OEM.

Made up. Really really keen to get ours moving now.

Thankyou my friend.

You've been such a supporter of this 'project' buddy - and being a knowledgeable Recaro guy; you were my 'go to M8' yesterday when i first got pictures from my man.

And his initial single picture really didn't do them much justice in retrospect did it !

He may have been crap at schedules / updates and pictures. But the man can build a seat. The fitment, the tucking in around all edges both top and bottom; and the stitching etc is all superb. He gave me the final price when he delivered them yesterday after i cast my critical eye over them - and i then very happily counted the cash into his hand and then bunged him £50 ontop. Tells you what i think of them.

And yes - apart from a few decals to brighten the interior.....the car as a whole is pretty much my version of OEM+ with nothing too outlandish. These should fit in with that angle of attack i hope......

Quality post mate. And you're right, the initial shot did NOT do them justice at all but I could still see it was a decent job. Now seeing the close ups... AWESOME. Honestly, it's really made me want to get pushing on ours now.

And you're dead right, OEM+ look is nailed. Can't wait to see them in.

Was there any spare leather mate? Do remember you ordered pretty much an entire cow. If so any plans with it?

When i chose the leather - he ordered it for me; and upon delivery it looked like way too much with it (6.8 square metres i think ??)

He initially said - 'Sorry' - look's like you've got enough to do headlining, rear bench, door cards etc too !! Not that i wanted that. But the leather at cost - was a hair under £250; in part because of the size of the hide. So......we expected there to be alot left over. What he brought back yesterday wasn't very much at all....not that i've unwrapped and measured it as yet.

And yes ! I do have some idea's; but am going to let things settle and see how i feel about it before i dive into anything else.

Will await further updates then

One of the armster arm rests covered in that would look very oem+

Cant wait to see your visions come to fruition too. I know you've been keen on a re-trim for about as long as i was. And i know the savings scheme Mrs M had in place had to be unfairly raided at times too......

Who are you marking up as a likely candidate for the work Mes ?

Excellent Shuv, they look the business! As the others have said, very pleased for you that you're happy with them - just a pity on the wait you've had. Kudos to you for the attention to detail with the cleaning, and prepping of the bases too.

Absolutely stunning! I reckon they were well worth the wait. I can't be the only one who saw that calendar/poster right?

I missed that, however I scrolled straight back up and had an excited search of each pic! Like a pervy version of 'Where's Wally'

Seats look spot on, they'll look right at home in your little minter. Can't be much left to do..... any other plans except for the decals mentioned?

Thankyou for the kind words. Not sure what the next move is - if any here TBH. Unless you can see some glaringly obvious 'must haves' I'm missing out on and my life wouldn't be complete without ? )

Priority is to get a second / track car with my son and leave this one for sunny weekends only if his (our) insurance allows...

And @Johnny 99 - my Boss is a huge Military vehicle fan. Him and his Dad have a few Willy's jeeps, a follow-me jeep, personnel carrier, a lorry of some sort, an M715 or two, a Humvee and others I don't know much about ! You a fan ? Can soon rattle off some pics for you...

It's ok thanks Shuv, I was just intrigued by the picture. I am not what you could call a military vehicle fan as such. I did always fancy owning an original Jeep though. One of the customers I used to call on had an example of the 1st civilian spec Jeep produced after the war and I always loved to see it. It looked as if it had just rolled off the production line.

Looking good Shuv, really pleased your happy with them. :thumb:

Thankyou !

**I can't help but feel your're leaving something on the table / there's something you don't 'like' though for some reason...

But yes. As good or better than expected so far.

Forecast is shocking tomorrow though. Might delay fitment :unamused:

Shuv we are all grown ups on here and I would like to think we can all be honest with each other. There are a lot of things I would change on your car but your new seats really do look great and I fully approve.

We are indeed ! And as much as I'm genuinely interested - at heart I pay little attention to opinions that don't fall in line with mine ref modding my own car; as-such.

While I do often ask - whatever the outcome - very rarely do I go away from my gut instinct or ideas. As I did with the seats in staying true to my vision from start to finish.

So as much as I really appreciate the 'approval' - I was also genuinely interested in your thoughts either way. And the reason we are men and (You especially) normally tell it like it is: was the very reason why I thought your comment wasn't perhaps fully heartfelt.

Seems I was wrong.

No malice meant or taken either way
