Tractor Boy

Andy's a good guy Mes. Think you'll like him a lot. The map he put on my 197 first time round was very very good.
My meg Clio will be going back there very soon. That says enough.

Already enjoyed a good chinwag with him. Seems a top bloke.

you cant go wrong with taking your car to them..they are a very reputable garage as from our members reviews...
let us know how he's done..

Yeah fully confident of the service I'm gonna get. Just hope no manifold related issues show up once it's on the dyne. I'm still convinced it's not quite feeling right. But have discussed it all with Andy and he knows what to do so at least I'll be in safe hands.

Hope all goes well Mes, and there's nowt wrong. It's almost like a remap is an essential part of owning a Mk3, would have loved to know how my old 200 would have been after some Andy 'magic'.

So, no emissions lights for two months...

Maybe a few cycles of VPower have cleaned things up enough. Hopefully...

In light of this, and following a lengthy discussion with Sean at Jade Developments we think the best way forward is to get it on the rollers and get a proper idea how it's doing.

Fingers crossed (like really) if everything is ok, we'll press ahead with mapping.

Booked in with Engine Dynamics a week Tuesday. Had a good chat with Andy. Seems a really top bloke.

#worried #hopeful

Nice one Mes! They have a good reputation, so sure you will get some decent results to get the most out of them mods!

fingers crossed Mes...sure she will make some nice power...:thumb:

Fingers crossed indeed mate! Not at all fussed about power, just want it running right again!

I think a remap is essential on any car really. They're all set up to deal with such varying crappy conditions that it's always worth having them tweaked to be optimised to your usage.

Cheers Chris, I was going to go to RST but after speaking with Sean in detail, I'm more than happy to go with ED. And as I said to Pav, not fussed about the results, just want it running right. But of course a little more power is always good!

The added bonus of ED being an hour away instead of 3 always sways me Over RST. Already tank of fuel up!

To be honest mate, I was pretty sold on RST but Sean persuaded me otherwise. Not that he said anything bad about RST, the opposite, they're good mates. But he added lots of fuel on the fire for ED and coupled with everything everyone on here has said it pushed me in that direction. After having a good chat with Andy, already it seems like a good decision!

Yes it's MUCH closer to home but the daft thing is, the day before it's booked in, I'll be up in Manchester visiting my folks so RST would be LOADS closer!

Why is nothing ever straight forward?!

i have only been and used RST but again, its only an hour away from me so i think that played an important factor...
think both RST and ED are a very capable business to sort any issues you may be having..

I have everything crossed that there aren't any issues!

But, I do feel like it's not running perfectly. Usually I'm very sensitive to these things. But hoping I'm wrong!

We'll see...

Thanks Pav.

Well you could've stayed over the night at your folks and gone to scoff at efi in Runcorn. That's where mines going when the time comes. He also mapped my 230bhp motor.

Wipers are grinding to a halt. Just what we need in this weather. Had to take the Lotus out last night. In the rain!

Another classic bit of Renault design!

Luckily, we've had a word with Andy and he's going to sort that on Tuesday.

If it's the motor or the UPC (which it was when my wipers stopped working) I have both which I took off mine if you need either.

Awesome mate. My guess is it's just a rust build up. They're working, just slowing down. Hoping it's just a good clean up job.

If not, I'll shout. Good to know there's a back up, always. Thanks Sean!

Think I had this when I first got mine Mes. Put them on full speed and doused everything mechanical under the scuttle in WD40 and forgot about it ever since!

Did think about a similar home remedy to see if it helped. But seeing as TB will be with Engine Dynamics on Tuesday, I figured it better to get the professionals to do it. My mechanic skills are, erm... let's just say extremely limited!

oh the wipers issue.

It won't be the motor mate but the rust in the actual mechanism arms. He'd have to take it to bits, unsieze it, lubricate it the lot.

I had the same problem and had the actual motor replaced under warranty but it turned up it wasn't that but the arms, oops!
