Shuv's Racing Blue 200...................

Hopefully just overflow sitting on the undertray but driveshaft seal is a possibility. I was quoted around £160 to have mine done as I had the same issue.

Driveshaft seal occurred to me too. Didnt realise it would be that expensive !

Are you saying it possibly oil from overfilling......or is there such a thing as overflow ?

You say "You were quoted"..... Did you not have it done then ?

Overflow during filling, I've had it where a little has dripped onto the undertray then it's dripped down.
Haven't had it done yet as I haven't had the time, the garage noticed it in April before I went to Spa and added a seal conditioner as they couldn't get a seal in time. It's leaking less but still dripping so it's due to be done soon.

Appreciate the notion - but iv'e been 3 figures+ on my private driveway since the oil was changed.

Hard to believe a spillage has pooled up and then leaked out when stationary ? Possible i guess though........

Replacing a seal must be pretty time-consuming on these. I remember doing my XR3i myself in 'no time' !

We'll see soon enough. Cheers for your thoughts buddy.

Hope it's just something simple for you Shuv, I know your car is maintained to a very high standard so fingers crossed it will be nothing to worry about!

Thankyou bud.

Dropped car in this am. Went in to collect - they hadn't had time to look at it.

But interestingly in talking to the main man at the garage; it turns out the trainee actually did the gearbox oil - and remembers both spilling some and having a nightmare clearing it up !!

NOTHING overnight in garage where i park. And there's nothing where it's been parked all day.

Keeping an eye on it for 2 days and then dropping in again Friday for undertrays off and a clean-up at the very least.

Good times fingers crossed

my car wouldn't be going back there if i knew the trainee was let lose it :tongueout:
maybe thats just me?

Trainee might have been the wrong term. But yes - usually the main man works on it and I echo your thoughts.

This is the first time he's been let loose on mine I know of. Normally the owner or his equally experienced right hand man do all the work on it.

We had words tonight and I told him my feelings and why I do and have used him for 25 years...

I also think the owner has learnt a lesson here too. Irrelevant of anything else.

Told you lol good to hear it's not something which requires money thrown at it!

I owe you a beer if you were right

I got down at looked at the undertray tonight. Not the flat tray I imagined. Quite a few areas / corners oil could get trapped in there....

Glad it sounds like garage error rather than mechanical issue.
Wouldn't want to have to dip into the trackcar fund:wink:

BTW anything doing on that front??

Maybe the apprentice should take my title of Clumsy McButterfingers?
Always a good feeling when a niggling issue is down to human error than mechanical failure, glad it's one less thing you have to worry about.

Fingers crossed it's just a numpty error. I'd have made my thoughts very clear on them letting an amateur anywhere near my car. You and your gorgeous motor deserve better as such a long standing customer! Hope the gaffer got the message!
