R27 track car build- engine refresh time.

Love the wheel colour. I agree with Shuv, I think that's going to look fantastic next to the colour of the car. Looking forward to seeing them on.

So got my car out of my garage tonight and back at my workshop. Just to start the fab work. First on the list is a v band 2.5 system which will exit the sills. So firstly I was just checking the vbands and bends when I noticed that the vband fitment is very poor. This isn't good enough so emailed the company hopfully sort the issue out quickly.

So next I dug out all my plas my cut parts that a drew on solid works. Everything meets fia/msa regs but this is my own design that I'm testing out.

Followed by some small prep work on the chassis and I found my fuel cell box although it's been dripped on it's got a bit of surface rust I just put it where I think it will sit roughly.
Ps use a heat gun with this sound deadning, some like to be chipped away but this stuff responds very well to heat.

Right so been busy but not with clio although it will all help towards the the cause.

Drew a welding table up in solid works and designed it as a fixture/jigging table. This will be used for tanks, exhausts and general fab work as I have been putting them off as not had a suitable work area. It's still not finished need a shelf to hold my tig machine on and going to make a few other editions to it. But here is a brief step of how I designed it.

Cheers mate it's a long haul dsigning everything yourself but I'll get there think I'm going to design my own seat mounts that bolt in place for bucket seats next as people are more into bolt on mods

Had a productive little night last night spent half my time on the back with a tape measure and some bends looking at routing the exhaust and then mocked up the matter cage to see if it can slide over the fuel cell box. Next I'm getting it on a ramp to remove fuel tank, might be tonight might be weekend. But I got a few jobs to do on the front end and I await some trackspec ducts so can fit these and look at brake cooling options as well some cooling mods and todying the engine bay up.

No mate accusump going in the engine bay. Left overs from a previous build so a few quid on hose and fittings and it's a fail safe that hasn't cost me anything

Ha ha !

What I deserve for looking on my phone and not zooming in. And reading you talking about exhaust bends etc and putting 2 and 2 together.....

Win on it (the sump) anyway !

Good luck.
