New Member looking at a rs200 cup

Hi Duncan welcome to the Family it looks like a 200 with cup pack and climate control too so apart from Recaros it's a fantastic Spec car

Hi Duncan, welcome to the forum!

The Buyers Guide in the New Members section explains the differences between Cup and non-. As above, could well be a FF with Cup pack. Red calipers often suggest Cup, however these can be repainted by previous owners. You can also check the colour markings on the springs, however this one appears to be on lowering springs

Welcome. Good choice for you next car. Please be careful with it!!!

Good luck with the search. And the buyers guide on here should be revised and saved for when you go viewing. It helped SOOOOOO much when we were looking for ours.

It does look much lower than standard, absolutely. Also a fair few other cosmetic changes (different coloured door bullets, stickers etc). The aero kit (spoiler, front splitter, skirts) are nice additions.

As above, have a very good read through the Buyers Guide before you go see this, or any other, 200/197. Don't be sold on looks alone, a comprehensive service history is a MUST with these cars!

Good luck, and please feel free to ask as many questions as is needed! We're a helpful bunch!

That car has a cage and Recaros etc fitted to it as I was close to view it before it was eventually sold. The previous owner sold it for much less than it is being advertised for now, I think it was a shade over £6k he sold it for.

welcome to the herd..looks like a really good example..as above it looks like its been lowered either on springs or colies..the thing is these dont stay standard for long..lots of things that can be improved on...

it had all that fitted to it ? wonder if he still has them ? is he on the forum ?

I know the cage has sold but the Recaros are for sale on eBay. Previous owner isn't a member on here as far as I'm aware.

so had a read of the buyers guide and just want some clarification.
if it has a cup sticker on the window panel its a basic cup,
if there is no sticker but has red calipers and anthracite split 5 spoke wheels its a cup upgrade ?
majority of them seem to have the red calipers with brembo markings but what other wheel options were avaliable for the cup ?
Also the 200 is the one with the facelift i.e the black or anthracite bumper under the headlights ?

im idealy looking for a ff 200 cup.whats the best way to spot one ?

any help would be apprecioated

Firstly, there's no such thing as a FF, this is from the 1*2 days - it only adds to the confusion of the 200 :tongueout:
If it has Cup on the door pillar, it's likely a Cup (no reason why anyone should put this on a non-Cup).
If no sticker, but red brakes and anthracite wheels AND colour coded side strips it's a standard 200 with Cup chassis.
Only other wheel options were the Speedlines.
200 has the front blade and the bumper insert/rear diffuser could be either black or anthracite, if the anthracite pack option was selected.
A Cup will not have the soft touch dashboard nor keyless entry and it was an extra to have aircon. Its also has black side strips and white headlight inserts.

Any other questions, fire away!

it all very confusing as a lot of time has passed since these came out and majority of them, have been modified..calipers sprayed, stickers put on etc...

Right I'm baffled by all the cup stuff and how it can be a cup without saying cup.

This has came up for sale near me and I think, going by calipers and wheels, this has the cup pack ?

Am I wrong in thinking this ?

It does seem that way Duncan.

An extra way to tell if it's a Cup is to look at the colour coding on the springs - a Cup suspension will have orange and blue dot markings on the coils. This is fairly easy to see when you have a look past the wheels.
