LY Progress **Page 4 New Updates**

Well just a very small update regarding the finer things for the LY.

I recall many years ago I wanted a sticker that I hunted for and even my dealers could not get as no part number for it.

I managed to get one after months of looking for my Clio 182 Trophy.

Now that I have the Clio 197 I noticed the sticker had vanished also which is does over time due to wiping it and it fading so I went down the long road and channels and ended up getting a couple of replacements and they are Genuine items.

I love threads like this, can't believe I've only just read it. Restoring the car back to it's former glory, looks like great work so far Marc, will be following this closely.

More of an update today, Managed to get the seats Temp fitted so I could move the car and get it up on Axel stands and get the wheel arches out.
The passenger front rear section was smashed to bits and there was virtually nothing these so managed to get a good intact second hand one.

I was also going to attempt to take the 197 rear diffuser off but a couple of the bolts holding it on where very very rusty and I did not want to snap or break them so I will use some tigers pi$$ (WD40) on them over the next few days and give them some wire brush treatment also.

Here is todays pictures (With seats temp fitted also)

Love attention to detail like this.

Did they take some chasing / sourcing ?

The first time I done it for my 182 Trophy (Picture Below) it took months, Now that I knew what to do, who to contact and where to point the people to get it I had in in a few weeks.

The printing on them are not 100% but none the less they are genuine items and as I say these do not come from Renault and Renault had to go to the outside company to get them.

Gave the wee thing a clean today and loved just looking at it.

Its hard to believe that this car has not had any polish or wax in 2 months of ownership and the colour is still amazing.

Looks stunning mate! It's just not the same feeling driving it when it's not sparkling clean!

Paintwork on LY is truly awesome, despite all the haters (namely work colleagues and girlfriend!)

Stunning wheels, love the colour .
Something tells me the other half wasnt around when you took the pics of the wheels on the sofa :tearsofjoy:

I was polishing a bike fairing in the kitchen when the wife came home early from work, she said 'I never saw that but it better be out the house by the time I get changed!', needless to say I was back out in the man cave quick sharp. I do wear the trousers though.

Another small update from the weekend.

Managed to fit genuine front discs / pads and pin kit and while doing that I found something that was bad.
Brembos are screwed, So today (Monday) I bought two new front brembo callipers from Renault and its booked in later this week for them to be replaced with a brake fluid change.

I then had a spare 30mins so I fitted my power flex top mount on the car also.

WOW - that old caliper is something else !

Your brakes will be transformed with the new ones fitted.......

Any vibrations with the top mount ? Is this the only Powerflex engine / gearbox mount fitted so far ?
