Trackspec Clio 197

I've run on all sorts over the years and they are exceptional in cold and wet conditions. Obviously if you're going through giant puddles at speed then any tyre would cause you a problem but they are one of the best tyres I've ever run on. They're more expensive than most but there's a good reason for that. R888r are very good but not so good, A048s are very good but not as good. In my opinion they are currently the best trackday tyre out there for the Clio. They are also a list 1B tyre so are allowed for competition use.

Crikey they may be good but not cheap! I may stick to a good summer tyre or even some PS cup 2's which are near half the price...

Yes two replacements cost me £340. So that's over £1000 I've spent on tyres for it this year. I'm going to run my full slicks for trackdays this year (if it's dry!) to save these for competition use.

your car is brilliant..just a living proof that these cars are mega capable..so enjoyed your video..
p.s.the indoor headlights on is a nice touch..:thumb:

Final videos from Cadwell. There is a longer one on my page, but heres a shorter second half.

From going past the cafe to cafe for a lap with clear track. 1.50.2. Thats a respectable time round there.

Them 1st few laps. Why do people prolong the over taking. If someone's faster just move over. It's easier for both parties.

Loved the video buddy......going really well indeed ! Both you and the car

One small thing.....is your sun-strip on the inside of the windscreen ? Because it comes down way below the wiper line (As high up the screen as they reach on these cars.....)

Cadwell was particularly bad. I reported 3 cars there that day including the focus as they would make little effort to get out of the way, thats not my style but it was ridiculous at times and the only option. Part one of the video which can be found on my page was beyond a joke.

No it's on the outside the wipers go over it with no issues. You need them quite low to do the job the visors should do lol.

It does come very frustrating. Usally when have someone who's got more powerful car so hold you up under braking and cornering, then soon as see the straight .... powerrrrr and they pull away. To them they think they are quicker but by next corner or couple corners your back behind them and they are holding you up . Had it few times a Oulton. Then when finally get past they sit about inch off ass Down the straight thinking im quicker

Just watched Part 1. Jesus Christ, how many people saw you coming up behind them and then gunned it? Totally uncalled for, and I'd say you were being conservative only reporting 3! I hope that knob in the black Fiesta was one of the guys you reported.

It is very frustrating and if they got out of the way they might actually learn the correct lines, braking areas etc. You even see drivers who are so anxious to show off that they are the first out on the sighting laps and decide not to follow the race lines because they clearly know better than the instructor and don't listen in the briefings. Trackdays are so accessible these days and at a price where it's possible to have a lot of seat time on the best circuits for little money as such the audience is huge meaning driving standards, respect and behaviour drops.

Show days like FCS are the worst though. Some of the things I've seen on those days makes you wonder how some people gain a driving licence and that they are perhaps not competent at 30mph let alone track speeds.

Final prep currently happening to get the car ready for the Midland Speed Championship.

Breaks my heart having to refit the interior but at least it's all easily removable for other things.

Some more updates coming this week!

Nice driving, can tell you're quick. Bet passenger laps are entertaining!

Thanks for the compliment.

I will be at FCS at Donnington park in July on behalf of my business. We have open access to the track all day and will be offering a limited number of passenger rides. Come over and see us!

Can I do some track sessions with you . I'll bring mine out

Sure, Think we can offer up to 5 passenger rides in total, might be more. We have a garage there too. Not sure how the public track time is being arranged there at the moment Mark Dow usually sets it to 15minute stints I believe throughout the day.

Can you get any more cars out? Without going through public track time

We're allowed up to two cars and are taking our two demo cars. We're an exhibiting trader and as part of our package have full open pit lane throughout the day and a garage. It's costing us a fortune!

Few more updates with a load more to come this weekend ahead of the 26th.

My air con delete kit arrived so fitted it last night.

Example of the weight saving.

Pretty much a 2kg saving there plus of course all the additional parts removed.
