LY Progress **Page 4 New Updates**

Well the Sh*t got real and I'm so so happy.

So we bought the car like this with the drivers seat in very very bad condition and then so dirty is was cringe just to even sit in them as pictured below.

I bought a genuine Recaro CS Seat cover from capital seating and as it came with the Recaro logo it was £52.

Then after weeks of looking, getting samples and playing about this happened

Stunning! Now you have me thinking.

The seats are achingly gorgeous. So-so much want in a few pictures.

Afraid i'm too anal to have the 'standard' Renault tissue-paper covered versions. These are amazing though.

HUGE CONGRATS.

VERY jealous.......

They look completely OEM which I love. Its how the seats should have been made in the first place. Leather bolsters are so much better than the tissue paper bolsters.
Really nice having seat covers embroidered with Renaultsport and recaro too.

The seats look absolutely brilliant! Exactly as they should have come in the first place. If I decide to keep my car it's definitely on my to do list!

The Recaros look immense trimmed like that, epic! I can't believe what a state they were in before though, some people have no sympathy/care with them!!

Fantastic thread, must be the most spotless 197 out there, how very satisfying indeed!
Those seats though... there are no words.

Marc would it be rude to ask the cost of the refurb on the seats?

Have deep deep pockets and don't expect a lot of change

I would like to point out that it was still cheaper doing this than it was to buy two new recaro seats from Renault

Well worth it mate they look gorgeous. Are you doing the rear seats as well?

They look the biz mate, not much change from 1.5-2k I'd guess

Which although undoubtedly a large amount of money - is chump-change to some people. And no more than an Akropovic, manifold and fitting for example. Without a remap too....

I'd still like to know the ball-park figure as i'm sure many would. Would seem to me there must be a few like me who wouldn't consider / hate / would like to rid themselves of the standard Recaro cloth; but would of course love them in this trim.

Either way they are absolutely gorgeous

More of an update today, Managed to get the seats Temp fitted so I could move the car and get it up on Axel stands and get the wheel arches out.
The passenger front rear section was smashed to bits and there was virtually nothing these so managed to get a good intact second hand one.

I was also going to attempt to take the 197 rear diffuser off but a couple of the bolts holding it on where very very rusty and I did not want to snap or break them so I will use some tigers pi$$ (WD40) on them over the next few days and give them some wire brush treatment also.

Here is todays pictures (With seats temp fitted also)

Sorry bud didn't see the earlier pictures. That vapour blasting is the real deal. Better than new. Lovely project. Enjoy
