Newbie interested to hopefully buy my first 197

Hi there, I'm Dan and Currently drive a 2000 plate VW Polo as a daily and looking to huuuugely upgrade this to a clio 197 in some format (ideally r27 f1 cup buuut depends on cash as always!) as I've always hankered after one, they seem really fun little cars with fair reliability and reasonable running costs as a daily so I can keep my toy garaged  Quick question how do I pay up to become a full member so I can view for sale threads as id ideally want a members car as I appreciate enthusiast owned cars are more often looked after properly!! appreciate any help guys and look forward to exploring the forum

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum!

If you'd like to join as a paid member, click on your username at the top of the page - then select the 'Memberships' option and go with whatever package you prefer  this will give you access to the Classifieds, as well as a whole host of other stuff.

In the meantime, have a read through the Buyers' Guide at the top of the New Members section, and if you have any questions about anything, we are all very happy to help!

Good luck with the search!

EDIT: Kev beat me to it on a couple of points

Wow great response cheers guys. Ive had a brief browse of that buyers guide but will definitely have a good read of it and get myself paid up now.

Welcome along. Good luck in your search for the right car. Get a good one & you'll love it. Maybe not the fastest, but handling is sublime.

Tweaked Evo X 360. So not expecting clio to blow me away on power or handling but with it being so much smaller and still good handling with a nit of punch too id hope itd be a really fun car. Ive heard theyre really well set up for cornering and good chassis etc. Plus NA will be a nice difference to turbo in a performance car i think.plus im really really hoping theyll be more reliable and a bit cheaper to run whilst still being fun and capable.

Nice! I agree that n/a will be an alternative experience to the turbo. Just enjoy grabbing it by the scruff of the neck & revving it! In my case the Clio is the fun car v my Merc cabriolet daily. One for cruising, one for hooning.
