Yiannis' Albi Blue R27 - Toning down...

Epic videos Yiannis. I've skipped through them for now but mightily impressive. Plan on rewatching in full at work tomorrow  Shame about the drone :worried:

Cheers @Gordini

Just watched the last vid......COMMITTED from you: is the term i think !

Was the Lotus (?) taking it easy'ish in the corners - or were you really able to push him that much ?

Two other questions if i may:

1/ How have you got red steering wheel buttons ! (Like them)

2/ What the hell is that on your left wrist ?

Great vids; great memories im sure and thanks for sharing.

haha thanks matey:smile:

The lotus would understeer, or suffer from understeer at those speeds anyway as on videos everything looks slower lol. Diz was running totally OEM setup, AD07s which are fine but not great and OEM width which is just 175. All Lotus when pushed will understeer anyway.

The steering wheel buttons have been sprayed by Simon - Sprayshack, that was many years back:smile: What I wear on my wrist is the action camera remote control:smile:

So in a modest way your saying you were keeping pace in the twisties comfortably. Good to hear !

Gotcha on the other two. Buttons look great - something i may copy if you dont mind  And i thought he only did stripes @Gordini

Literally just about to ask that about the wrist lol!!!

Yiannis wow you almost lost it at the end of that last video there blimey lol!!!

I know! The thing is that I wasn't expecting Diz to break so hard, he did so though because he got lost in the junction and didn't know where to go! He had 2 close moments on that run but all good in the end:smile:

Thanks Peter.

I'm using the Sparco GK3 gloves. They are cheap and they do the job just right on a spirited drive. My steering wheel has been retrimmed with alcantara which can make hands really sweaty especially in high temps. The feel is also great which is a bonus. I wouldn't go back driving on a blast without gloves to be honest.

man those video's/// so cool to see the Clio on the twists! You really have a passion and thats wonderful man!
Every fan on here would give a nut or two... to get that experience!
Nice1 Bro.

thanks @VolumeX :smile: blimey i haven't update this for a while ...nothing is really happening apart from the fact that the car is @Jade's for bits and pieces. So;

-New PF rotors to be replaced
-KTR Manifold which I got from Luke in here. Thanks Luke!
-Carbon diffuser has been re lacquered and fitted.
-Front bearing conversion (subframe and wishbones)
-Quaife sorting out.
-Rear hubs sent to the machinist. A new one would have to be made from scratch (due to bearing failure) but some more weight is gonna be dropped as well on both of them in the process which would be a bonus.

When I get it back I'll need to drive it to RS tuning for mapping and then I've got Oulton booked for the 4th of March. After that I'd have to sort out the wheels as they are in urgent need of a refurb. Nothing else planned really, well, apart from the 2017 Alpine trip which is booked already:wink:

Good update mate. There's always something going on!

Great list of parts going on obviously. In case you didn't know, Sean is off sick at the moment...

As for the diffuser, I know I've said this in person but it looks so much better now. I think the lick of darkness was an inspired touch by Tom.

We need to organise a proper run out (maybe a weekend in Wales?) once the weather starts to improve.

Is he? I did speak to him beginning of this week and he told me that he was off the week before hence the lack of progress. I didn't realise he is currently off sick, hope is nothing too bad:worried:

@Pav I'm going with my mate who is getting himself ready for the caterham academy 2018:smile: We'll be there on Friday night, nice and rested for Saturday.
