Looking at changing these out for something a little white .... Just looks cleaner IMO

I removed the housing ..... How does the bulb come out , is it a twist or a pull . I didn't want to force anything without checking ?

hi..you dont even have to remove the housing...they will pop out easily..any 501 bulb will do..:thumbsup:

So you remove the clear plastic part ?

I assumed this may be sealed to keep out moisture , my old Vxr had sealed housing and bulb connection clipped out

When I changed mine I just clipped the clear plastic cover off (use a flat-head screwdriver). There is a rubber seal there - mine came out with the cover, so had to line it up properly when I put it back. The bulb just pulls straight out - very easy.

Yeah I think as Jimmy said above, clip the plastic cover off, then the whole unit comes out. Much easier to disconnect the unit and remove the bulb, than to try and do it in-situ

ETA: Be careful not to break the plastic cover, they seem very brittle and I managed to crack one of mine when using a flat head to remove it. Luckily a little superglue worked great to repair it but if you can avoid breaking it it's definitely easier

The bulbs just pull out.

As said above, the plastic cover is very brittle - I managed to break both of mine :s

You can buy the full units that are led online, they are literally plug and play, get a much better beam pattern than running the led behind the standard lens.

Personally I think they look a little too bright and prefer the LED's.

I bought 3 packs of them (think they were only £3.29 when I bought last year) and did both interior lights (6 bulbs /3 in each), the door/puddle lights (1 bulb per door), and the number plate lights (2 bulbs).

I haven't (yet)... I've swapped the indicator bulbs to Philips Silver vision (front and rear), and still plan to upgrade the rest of the bulbs in the front cluster at some point (sides, dipped and main beam). Keep putting it off because it seems like such a BALLACHE job stripping the whole front bumper off... (I know it's possible to do without removing the front bumper, but it still doesn't seem all too straight forward).

Likely going to ask my mechanic to do it later in Feb when the car's in for its MOT, and get the bulbs done along with the powerflex gearbox mount (since that involves taking the battery and fuses out anyway).

[MENTION=965]academic[/MENTION] I use these for all my lights interior/number plate/side lights etc they're great. Agree with [MENTION=52455]CallorFold[/MENTION] about the fitting though, I just gave up and passed them to my mechanic when I had my MOT

Yeah the front side light bulbs are a pain....well one side in particular from my memory as there just isnt room. Do they appear white when fitted as standard bulbs are a bit yellow.

I've got silver indicator bulbs front and back so think this is the next step.

I went to my local audio guy who also does a bunch of other stuff, and it took him less than a minute to get the back cover off the passenger side cluster, take out the old sidelight and put the new one in. He used what looked like a pair of scissors crossed with the end of the crowbar that looks a bit like a fork. I was pretty amazed as it took me a good 5 minutes just to do the drivers side

Yeah I planned on grabbing these for the front clusters -

Dipped Beam - H7 OSRAM Nightbreakers ~£14
Main Beam - H1 OSRAM Nightbreakers ~12
Side Lights - 501 OSRAM (cool blue) ~£7 - despite being called "cool blue" from what I've seen, they actually look more white than blue

Like the number plate bulbs, they should be much more of a brilliant white glow rather than a manky off-yellow colour.

The osrams are definitely more white than blue. I've just put them in (cool blue intense) and had them as my dipped beam and sidelights on my previous car. They match the xenons fairly well too. Let me know if you need any pics
